Qualifications:
Required:
BS/BSN
Minimum of three years current experience in areas of specialization required
One-year experience with demonstrated leadership/management required
Certifications and Licenses Required:
BLS and ACLS through AHA
Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License
Preferred:
ED degree in Nursing or related health field preferred
If Masters is non-nursing, BSN preferred
Minimum of one-year education, teaching, preceptor or other experience
Scheduling Requirements:
Day shift, Per Diem
Essential Functions:
Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments i.e., damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas - and medical errors, etc.,
Collaborates with the patient, family and other health care providers in achieving optimal patient outcomes
Completes assessment of competency skills on all staff on an annual basis
Consults with the staff nurse, Clinical Directors, physicians, administrators, other professionals and health care agencies on practice related issues, as appropriate
Contributes to performance evaluations of nursing staff as appropriate
Coordinates and facilitates nursing orientation in collaboration with Clinical Director, orientee and preceptor
Coordinates and participates in general nursing education programs, i,e
orientation
Develops and conducts educational programs based on skills, knowledge base and educational needs of the nursing staff, patients and families
Develops nursing standards of practice, standards of patient care and policies and procedures with staff registered nurses
Assist with implementation through education
Enhances own professional growth and development through continuing education, independent study and participation in professional organizations
Other duties as assigned by Director
