Principal /Senior Principal Semiconductor Process Integration Engineer – 2nd Shift – R10210084 Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal / Senior Principal Semiconductor Process Integration Engineer to join our Advanced Technology Lab (ATL) in the Northrop Grumman Microelectronics Center (NGMC) located just outside of Baltimore, MD. This position focuses on superconducting electronics and advanced semiconductor process integration. Roles And Responsibilities The Engineer will: Focus on superconducting electronics and advanced technologies. Perform BEOL process integration with emphasis on yield improvement and defect reduction. Conduct hands‑on laboratory and experimental work. Support program execution for the Micro Systems Technologies portfolio. Collaborate with cross‑functional foundry groups and multiple shifts. Basic Qualifications (Principal Level) Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Microelectronics, Material Science, Chemistry, Physics, or closely related STEM major with 5 years of relevant experience; Master’s degree with 3 years; PhD with 1 year. Understanding of basic semiconductor processing, especially BEOL integration. Experience with DOE, JMP and statistical analysis. Experience working with large datasets. Experience in process improvement. Ability to work off‑centered 2nd shift. Experience interfacing with multiple shifts in a 24‑7 environment. Must obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance. U.S. Citizenship required. Basic Qualifications (Senior Principal Level) Bachelor’s Degree with 8 years of experience; Master’s with 6 years; PhD with 4 years. All prior qualifications remain applicable. Preferred Qualifications TS/SCI clearance. Semiconductor processing, analog and microwave electronic circuits experience. FEOL, BEOL, Far‑BEOL semiconductor fabrication experience. Experience analyzing devices (MOSFETs, Josephson Junctions). Shift and Travel Second shift (Wednesday – Saturday or Sunday – Wednesday, 2–10 pm EST). Travel 10 % of the time. Salary and Benefits Primary Level: $105,400 – $158,000. Secondary Level: $131,000 – $196,700. Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonus, and Long Term Incentives for VP/Director positions.
