This position is responsible for day-to-day project management of 1-6 concurrent engagements. Project management responsibilities include project planning, execution of engagement objectives, daily interaction and communication with client personnel, and performing the initial review of Senior Associate and Associate workpapers. This role requires the ability to supervise teams of 1 - 6 staff members on multiple concurrent engagements to ensure they receive feedback, direction, and resources in the event engagement issues arise. This requires a thorough understanding of the client’s industry (i.e. inventory/distribution, oil and gas, financial institutions) or the ability to quickly learn and adapt to an unfamiliar industry. This position should have an advanced understanding of accounting and audit concepts, including internal control theory and internal audit standards.To be successful in this role, the following qualifications are required:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related fieldCPA or CPA candidate, CIA, or CIA candidate with 2 - 4+ years of experience in public accountingThorough understanding of GAAP, GAAS and IIAProficient at Microsoft Excel, Word,Excellent written and verbal communication skillsTeam orientation and strong interpersonal skillsThorough understanding of the COSO internal control framework, Internal Audit Standard, and the Sarbanes Oxley Act and the related requirements of SectionBasic familiarity with GAAP and GAASAdditionally, the following qualifications are preferred:Master’s degree in Accounting or related fieldAdvanced understanding of financial reporting, transaction cycles, and business processesAbility to mentor and help develop less experienced staffDemonstrate independent thinking and strong decision makingWeaver Benefits At Weaver, our most valuable resource is our people.
