The team is responsible for the dedicated Prime Video app on Vega OS, as well as all PV experiences on the Vega Launcher. With the app launching in 2025, you will get to shape the future of this product as well as the culture of the team. ResponsibilitiesLead a team of Software Engineers to build a best-in-class Prime Video experience for millions of customers on Vega OS.Own the roadmap, vision, and strategy to enable customers to have a responsive, delightful, and intuitive Prime Video experience whenever they interact with Prime Video.Provide coaching in design, development, testing, and operations as you design, build, and launch new features and experiences.Collaborate with Product Managers, UX Designers, Technical Program Managers, Software Engineers, and Software Managers from other teams.Build broader Prime Video Fire TV strategy and roadmap; manage engineering processes and ensure operational burdens remain manageable.Ensure customer-facing feature sets are delivered quickly and with high quality; grow leaders internally and hire the best talent. Typical DayAs a leader of the Vega application for Prime Video, you will be responsible for the engineering processes of the organization and the culture of the team, ensuring effective execution of the PV Fire TV strategy and roadmap. About The TeamThe Prime Video Fire TV team owns a mature product that serves millions of customers and is a primary way users interact with Prime Video. The team is mostly based in Seattle, with a mix of newer and more experienced members and regular team outings and activities. Basic Qualifications3+ years of engineering team management experience7+ years of experience working directly within engineering teams3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systemsKnowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, certification, and live-site operationsExperience partnering with product or program management teams Preferred QualificationsExperience communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategyExperience recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and effectiveness Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $166,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
