Key Responsibilities:

As the Dining Services Director, you will oversee the entire food service program, ensuring high standards in food quality and safety, effective inventory management, and exceptional customer service. Your leadership will be vital in maintaining compliance with facility menus and all regulatory requirements.

  • Lead and support the food service team to meet quality and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of income, expenses, food supplies, personnel, and equipment using HCSG software.
  • Conduct team training and quality control, and be ready to step into roles such as dietary aide, cook, or dishwasher when necessary.
  • Effectively communicate directives from management to staff and stakeholders.
  • Ensure safe practices in the kitchen, including proper use of protective gear and cleaning solutions, and promptly report equipment needs.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and sanitary work environment.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and commitment to timely task completion.
  • Represent HCSG positively with courteous interactions in all communications.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or higher in food service management or hospitality is preferred.
  • Two years of experience in quantity food production/service and personnel supervision is preferred.
  • Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) certification is preferred (or as mandated by state law).
  • Must obtain Food Protection Manager (FPM) certification within the first 14 days of employment.
  • Must obtain Food Service Manager (FSM) and Long-Term Care Food Service (LTC-FSM) certifications within the first 60 days.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Positive attitude with effective communication skills across all levels of staff and management.
  • Must comply with COVID-19 vaccination policies.
  • Physical ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and engage in extended periods of standing, walking, and other activities.
  • Basic computer skills for maintaining records and completing reports, including web-based tasks.
  • Residency within the service area is required.
