We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Drivers Helper to assist our drivers in the transportation and delivery of goods. This role is crucial in ensuring that deliveries are executed efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, possess a strong work ethic, and have a willingness to learn about various types of vehicles and equipment.
*Duties*
* Assist the driver in loading and unloading freight from the vehicle.
* Ensure that all items are secured properly for transport.
* Help navigate routes and provide directions as needed.
* Maintain cleanliness and organization of the vehicle.
* Operate equipment such as pallet jacks to facilitate loading and unloading.
* Support the driver in performing pre-trip inspections of the vehicle.
* Communicate effectively with team members and customers regarding delivery schedules and requirements.
*Skills*
* Experience operating box trucks, flatbeds, or dump trucks is preferred.
* Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles is a plus.
* Basic mechanical knowledge to assist with minor repairs or maintenance tasks.
* Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
* Experience in paratransit or freight handling is advantageous.
* Skills in moving large items safely and effectively.
* Proficiency in using pallet jacks for material handling.
