Success will be determined by the velocity, quality, and scale of the payment operation teams’ implementation and support of new projects, feature releases, product launches, and cross‑functional objectives. The role collaborates with Finance, Risk, Engineering, Customer Experience, and Partner Success to design, implement, and refine operational processes that ensure reliability, scalability, and exceptional service delivery. Additional responsibilities include preparing for upcoming changes, soliciting feedback, and ensuring the necessary tools are available to the team. Key Responsibilities & Objectives Serve as a strategic and operational partner to the VP of Payment Operations in shaping vision, roadmap, and priorities. Lead and execute critical projects to improve operational performance, automate workflows, and enhance scalability. Architect and execute best‑in‑class customer experiences. Scope new or changing processes, create project plans, and oversee execution. Monitor and report on project updates, share key timelines, and actively monitor deliverables. Collaborate with team to improve merchant and partner hand‑offs from Sales, Commercial, and Underwriting to reduce controllable attrition. Recognize trends and seek feedback from internal and end users on gaps after new initiative launches, desired product and feature updates, and interactions with internal teams. Present creative ideas to leadership for cost‑saving measures or experience enhancements. Maintain control of complex issues, gather information for escalation, and develop resolution strategies. Audit documentation to ensure resources and processes are available and current. Execute on vision and future direction for the payment ops team through long‑term strategic planning while meeting near‑term objectives. Assist with budgeting and managing operations within established fiscal parameters. Requirements 5–7 years of payments/Fintech experience in an operations role. Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to influence across teams and levels. Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and decision‑making skills. Understanding of planning frameworks and methods. Shows flexibility and always goes the extra mile to meet the needs of the business, partners, and clients. Commitment and self‑motivation to work within deadlines with minimal supervision. Deeply analytic and questioning doubts that cannot be proven. Knowledge of relevant payment processes, products, and regulations. Solution‑oriented, with the ability to think strategically and creatively while making decisions.
