First Aid Provider Staff (EMT) 10hrs/week Join Momentum for Health as a First Aid Provider Staff (EMT) position, working 10 hours per week. Work Schedule Saturday and Sunday, 7:30 am – 12:30 pm. Shifts are 5 hours each and 100 % field based. Pay Information Union wages set by the Collective Bargaining Agreement with SEIU Local 521. Current Step 1 rate is $32.78 per hour and Step 6 rate is $36.19 per hour. Additional shift differentials apply: 6.25 % for overnight (11 pm – 7 am) shifts. 4.75 % for evening (5:30 pm – 10:59 pm) shifts. 4.75 % for weekend shifts (12:01 am Saturday – 11:59 pm Sunday). PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Work with community collaborators as part of a multidisciplinary on‑site field team, describing team objectives and services. Provide primary assessment focused on history, perform a rapid 3‑minute physical exam, and conduct a secondary survey to identify bleeding or fractures. Participate in presentations with the team to stakeholders in the community and provide outreach education. Drive the mobile field team van to and from community locations, planning routes and preparing alternate routes during high traffic congestion. Offer verbally communicated CPI de‑escalation techniques and stabilization services in a clinically and culturally appropriate manner. Maintain confidentiality, HIPAA compliance, and protect sensitive data. Provide basic first aid within the scope of practice when required. Maintain cleanliness and order of the vehicle, using established maintenance criteria; arrange servicing at repair shop when needed. Perform vehicle inspections and complete van binder checklists; check fuel gauge, dashboard warning lights, etc., according to schedule. Report all accidents, incidents, and breakdowns; fill out required insurance and facilities forms. Promptly report any interruption to the delivery schedule to a manager or authorized party; arrange alternate transportation if needed. Accurately record required data on forms (mileage, fuel consumption, trip information, maintenance needs) in a clear, concise, legible manner; maintain a daily log available for review. Deliver high‑quality customer‑focused service style when interacting with staff, clients, and the general public. Treat all customers with respect, courtesy, and tact; demonstrate efficient use of time while on duty. Handle service requests attentively, communicate with customers to obtain necessary information, and provide accurate information to fulfill requests. Attend and participate in agency meetings and trainings as requested or assigned. Interface with staff, clients, and visitors as conditions require in an unobtrusive manner. KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED (E = Essential; D = Desired) High School diploma, GED, or equivalent education. (E) Credentialed as an EMT in the state of California. Valid certification of First Aid, AED, and CPR. (E) Minimum six months related behavioral health experience; full‑time best practices experience in deliveries and customer service. (D) (Volunteer experience considered). General knowledge of safe and defensive driving practices; proper handling, use, and vehicle maintenance or problem recognition of delivery vehicles. (E) Thorough understanding of substance use impact on presentation and assessment. Demonstrated ability to: Prioritize tasks and respond to emergency requests quickly and efficiently. (E) Interact with staff, clients, and non‑Agency contacts with tact and diplomacy. (E) Exercise good judgment, stay calm, and reassure in stressful situations and with agitated individuals. (E) Anticipate problems and questions and seek effective solutions. (E) Adhere to organization‑ and department‑specific safety standards and guidelines. (E) Engage and communicate effectively with others in English. (E) Read and follow written specifications and instructions in English; write legibly. (E) Read local maps. (E) Work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds; exhibit exemplary customer service, compassion, and care. (E) A valid California Driver License, access to a reliable vehicle or company vehicle, proof of auto liability insurance, and a clean DMV record. (E) Physical requirements: standing, walking, grasping, finger flexion, moving/lifting/carrying objects up to 45 lb., bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, reaching, squatting, stretching, prone positions, balancing, climbing, crawling, and repetitive motion. (E) Hearing and talking on telephone/in person occasionally. (E) Ability to assist clients and staff in evacuation during emergencies.
