Overview The IDD service provides specialist care for those aged over 18 with intellectual disabilities and neurodevelopmental conditions, focusing on those whose needs cannot be met by a mainstream provision. We work to improve the mental and physical wellbeing of our service users, taking a holistic, person‑centred approach to meeting individual needs and ensuring that people receive the support they require to live a fulfilling life within their local community. Assessment and treatment is delivered by our Community Intellectual Disability Teams across Nottinghamshire. When there has been an increase in risk or deterioration and the mental health issues cannot be managed in the community, intensive support is provided by our Intensive Community Assessment and Treatment Teams. When community options are no longer viable, we have a local IDD Assessment and Treatment Unit which receives admissions from across the county. TeamNottsHC is one of the largest mental health and community Trusts in the East Midlands, employing over 11,000 professionals and operating across Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, and South Yorkshire. Role Responsibilities The focus of the role will include the assessment and management of new and existing patients, GP liaison, MDT meetings, medicolegal work (MHA/ Sec 12) and participation in on‑call rotas. Ensuring junior staff operate within the parameters of the New Deal and are Working Time Directive compliant. Undertaking the administrative duties associated with the care of patients. Recording clinical activity accurately and comprehensively, and submitting this promptly to the Information Department. Participating in service and business planning activity for the locality and the wider mental health service. Participating in annual appraisal for consultants. Attending and participating in the Trust’s academic programme, including lectures and seminars as part of the internal CPD programme. Maintaining professional registration with the General Medical Council, Mental Health Act Section 12(2) approval, and abiding by professional codes of conduct.
