Associate Scientist – Planet Pharma Join our Planet Pharma team as an Associate Scientist in the Protein Therapeutics (PT) group. You will be part of the Protein Chemistry team at our state‑of‑the‑art research facility in Thousand Oaks, CA, where we focus on protein engineering, expression, purification, and characterization. Salary: $22–$32 per hour (Target Pay Range). Location: Thousand Oaks, CA. We are a full‑time, onsite position with standard business hours for a minimum duration of 1 year. Responsibilities Work with protein purification and analytics, employing preparative and analytical chromatography techniques. Operate chromatography systems (affinity, ion‑exchange, size‑exclusion, etc.). Use lab software such as Unicorn, Chromeleon, or ChromeLab; support lab automation and high‑throughput workflows. Troubleshoot instrumentation and processes, ensuring data integrity and accuracy. Manage and organize data, and present findings to the team in a fast‑paced setting. Collaborate cross‑functionally with other labs and stakeholders. Qualifications Must hold a bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree with at least 1 year of experience. Strong background in biochemistry and hands‑on experience with protein purification and analytics, using various preparative and analytical chromatography techniques. Proficiency with lab software such as Unicorn, Chromeleon, or ChromeLab; familiarity with lab automation and high‑throughput purification workflows. Excellent troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, robust data‑handling capabilities, and strong communication skills. Ability to multi‑task, work flexibly and efficiently in a cross‑functional environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience with protein purification and expertise in a variety of chromatography techniques (affinity, ion‑exchange, size‑exclusion, etc.) and software (Unicorn, ChromLab). Experience with protein analytical techniques (HPLC, MCE, etc.) and analysis software (Chromeleon, LabChip). Experience with data management and/or analysis platform, software or tools is a plus.
