The Opportunity The Account Manager is responsible for a number of impactful public relations activities. You will contribute to creating PR plans, strategy for social media efforts, and regular PR recaps; draft new business proposals; review and edit some material drafted by others; contribute to planning and managing events and providing event overviews; assist with event staffing, outreach efforts and presentations; pitch media and secure quality placements for clients; client contact and client relations in absence of team leads. The ideal candidate brings strategic insight, exceptional media‑relations skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding client service. You’ll play a key role in developing and executing programs that build visibility and credibility for our clients. Compensation: $80,000–$90,000 (commensurate with experience) Employer‑provided: Medical, dental, and vision insurance; commuter benefits; paid holidays; cell phone reimbursement; 401(k); and more. Key Responsibilities Create PR plans and new business proposals Responsible for day‑to‑day client relations Leads and manages account teams Identifies opportunities to grow accounts Consistently secures national placements Drafts key messages Plans and manages events; provides event overviews as needed Contributes to setting social media strategy Reviews and edits material drafted by others Media pitching Reviews press kit materials Staff photo shoots and interviews Fulfillment of media requests Assist in creating and delivering client presentations Train and develop junior staff Participate in brainstorming sessions on new and current business Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in public relations related field or equivalent experience 4–6 years’ experience in a lifestyle‑focused public relations environment Proven ability to write media alerts, press releases, pitch media, and media kits, and secure media placements Demonstrated ability to develop strategy documents Developed relationships with national media Strong knowledge of social media Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Advanced proficiency with Cision Excellent interpersonal and verbal communications skill; high level, sophisticated written skills Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines Collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal and leadership skills Ability to work some evenings, weekends, and holidays, required Able to lift up to 20 lbs.
