About the Role

The Excavation foreman plans and organizes work to maximize potential crew productivity by employing delay-free production, maximizes equipment utilization levels by ensuring availability and operator effectiveness, and coordinates with the Project Manager on the project's needs for equipment and labor. Just as important as it is to plan and organize the work on our projects, the foreman is expected to be a leader who manages each person on their crew, helping them achieve success and be a productive part of the team. Foremen will help lift their crews and teach them to do things the Tendit way.

What You Will Do:
  • Direct and coordinate production activities, material use management, mobilization, equipment maintenance, record keeping, and traffic control.
  • Ensure that all operations comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA, MSHA, etc.
  • Implement and manage the best practices of equipment and MWC production maintenance, emphasizing safety, efficiency, planning, scheduling, preventive maintenance, and equipment utilization.
  • Supervise, coordinate, or schedule the activities of a small crew of construction workers.
  • Communicate and coordinate with subcontractors working on projects.
  • Prioritize, delegate, and perform all work, placing safety first.
  • Record daily time, production, and site conditions.
  • Schedule proper maintenance for all equipment with shop management
  • Perform the duties of all excavation crew team members.
  • Utilize knowledge of excavation quality control measures.
  • Continually inspect the work site, surveying for potential hazards or safety concerns.
What You Will Need:
  • Experience in asphalt paving/excavation construction is preferred.
  • A valid U.S. Driver's License and clean DMV record.
  • Must have experience and ability to run heavy construction equipment (i.e., excavators, skid steers, rollers, etc.)
  • Pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Strong leadership qualities.
  • Good communication skills to work effectively and safely.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English is preferred but not required.
  • Deadline and detail-oriented.
  • Must be available to work overtime, nights, and weekends as needed.
  • Work in extreme (hot and cold) weather conditions safely.
  • Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks.

Compensation for this position is set at an hourly rate of $27.00 - $33.00, depending on experience. Plus, a $2,500 sign-on bonus is paid through the first year.
