Clinical Research Nurse - Children's Hospital - F/T Days Hackensack, NJ | Requisition # 2025-172981 | Full-time with Benefits Overview The Clinical Research Nurse is responsible for coordinating and overseeing clinical research operations for assigned clinical trials. Working under the general supervision of the principal investigator, the nurse ensures compliance with protocol, regulatory requirements, and quality standards. Responsibilities Assist the principal investigator in protocol preparation, review resources, and communicate study status. Submit protocol revisions, informed consent, institutional review board (IRB) updates, and adverse event reports to the appropriate IRB in a timely manner. Act as liaison between investigators and sub-investigators on all regulatory issues. Collaborate with the principal investigator, clinical research coordinator, and clinical team to review feasibility and evaluate potential competition. Recruits and evaluates potential study patients and schedules required appointments with the research coordinator. Educate study patients and caregivers on study procedures, drug administration, and side effects. Document study patient history, assessments, and progress notes, and maintain accurate records in all applicable systems. Coordinate laboratory tests, radiology, and other medical exams, and provide study education materials. Notify investigator of adverse events according to established timelines and report serious adverse events to sponsor and IRB. Assist with sponsor monitoring site visits and resolve site visit issues. Participate in staff meetings, conferences, and provide education to all departments where the study is performed. Qualifications BSN required (associate degree in Nursing or diploma acceptable for hires before March 31, 2024). Minimum 3 years clinical nursing experience or 1 year clinical nursing with an additional 2 years of clinical research experience. Adheres to American Nurses Association standards. Strong attention to detail and commitment to customer service. Excellent communication, organizational, presentation, documentation, and interpersonal skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite. Review and comply with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.
