Atrium Health Levine Childrens is seeking a BC/BE Pediatric Hospital Medicine physician to join their team of 75 + providers, serving 9 Pediatric Hospitalist locations in the greater Charlotte area. This is a fabulous opportunity to join our dynamic team and work at the regions premier childrens hospital as well as our regional childrens hospital. This combination provides a good mix of bread-and-butter inpatient pediatrics with complex and high acuity quartenary care pediatrics.
Position details:
- Schedule of 5 shifts at Jeff Gordon Childrens Center/month, and 6 shifts at Levine Childrens Hospital/month.
- Shifts are usually bundled to 3-4 days in a row. Nighttime JGCC shifts are 6p-7a, nighttime LCH shifts are 7p-7a.
- This will be an inpatient role, including cross-coverage of an average of 12 to 20 patients and doing admissions at Jeff Gordon Childrens Center, and working with 2 APPs and 3 residents at Levine Childrens Hospital assisting with cross-cover oversite and staffing admissions.
- Joining a team of 1 physician and 1 APP daily, with Family Practice Residents and PA student at Jeff Gordon Childrens Center. Additionally joining a team of 1 physician and 2 APPs, with possibly 1 APP fellow per team at Levine Childrens Hospital.
- Weekend coverage 1 per every 3 weekends, no home call
- Telemedicine privileges available
Qualification requirements:
- Board Certified in General Pediatrics and Board Certified/Eligible in Pediatric Hospital Medicine is strongly encouraged but not required.
- Experience with lumbar puncture procedures
- Experience in inpatient pediatric medicine is preferred.
Jeff Gordon Children's Center (JGCC) at Atrium Health Cabarrus has been designed specifically with children in mind. Levine Childrens Hospital serves as the clinical training site for the CMC Pediatric Residency Program as well as medical students from the Wake Forest School of Medicine. Support for clinical research and quality improvement is available to interested candidates. The highly anticipated opening of the Wake Forest School of Medicine - Charlotte Campus in 2025 will provide additional opportunities for education, quality improvement and clinical research.
