The candidate will be a member of the Solution NAND FA team, responsible for NAND failure analysis on NVMe SSD products.

The candidate will be developing SSD test scripts and analysis tools, performing NAND/SSD FA works based on strong NAND/Solution knowledge, supporting customer RMA works.

Job Requirements:

As part of this role, the candidate will perform but not limited to the following functions:

  • Perform NAND/SSD failure analysis to support NVMe SSD product development.
  • Resolve issues of SSD qualification processes and customer sites.
  • Deliver FAR(failure analysis report) to internal and external clients of SK Hynix
  • Support to enable new NAND products for next NVMe SSD products.
  • Develop, implement, debug and run SSD test scripts and analysis tools using Node JS or Python.
  • Perform cross-functional works with firmware, hardware, NAND design, NAND PE, QA, PMO and customer teams.


Qualification and Required Skills:

  • BS in Engineering required.
  • Expertise knowledge in NAND device physics and failure mechanisms. 3D-NAND experience is a plus.
  • Deep understanding of NAND datasheet and specification.
  • Strong problem solving skills based on NAND and SSD technologies
  • Hands-on NAND/SSD FA works based on SSD VU commands. Experience in PCIe/NVMe is a plus.
  • Strong statistical analysis skills with Spotfire, Splunk, Python, or Excel.
  • Strong scripting skills for SSD test framework. Node JS is a plus.
  • Strong documentation and presentation skills.


Additional Skills:

  • Understanding of SSD technologies such as FTL, bad block management, wear-leveling, garbage collection, ECC, and error recovery algorithms.
  • Understanding of read and write path on SSD SoC.
  • Experience in logic analyzer, oscilloscope, or protocol analyzer is a plus.
  • Experience in massive SSD test works or performance tests is a plus.
  • Experience in database management is a plus.
  • Self-motivated and strong team player.
