As an Engineering Technician you will perform electrical and mechanical engineering functions in the planning and design, construction and maintenance of electric distribution systems.

What You Bring to the Table:

We are looking for an applicant with a proficient understanding of electrical technology, circuit analysis, safety, and related knowledge.
Candidates should also have strong organizational, interpersonal, and multi-tasking skills and should be able to work independently and professionally communicate both verbally and in writing.
A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a similar field is required, and we prefer at least one year of related experience in engineering and AutoCAD.

Essential duties and responsibilities for this role include:

  • Designing single phase, three phase and multi-circuit underground and overhead lines and services for residential, commercial, retail, industrial, and development projects.
  • Preparing drawings and staking sheets with detailed measurements and relative geographic features, specifying size, type and quantity of standard construction units and materials, specifying size and type of conductors, equipment and devices, and specifying any other notes or details relevant to the construction of the project.
  • Providing construction plans by preparing sketches, drawings, and/or electronic drawings, staking sheets and other documentation in sufficient detail to facilitate construction of the project in a timely and efficient manner according to the construction standards and specifications.
  • Performing field services, staking and surveying by acquiring field measurements; placing stakes and other markers to identify the locations of poles, anchors, lines, equipment and devices; requesting utility locates; obtaining applicable city, state, county and federal permits.
  • Producing electrical designs by determining size, type, quantity and physical placement of electric lines; equipment and devices, including primary and secondary conductors, single phase and three phase transformers, metering, protective and sectionalizing devices, light and heavy overhead and underground construction.
