Head Start Cooks (Continuous Recruitment) Pay range: $15.80/hr – $16.27/hr. Job Duties Head Start Cooks will work within the UW Oshkosh Head Start program, a federally funded preschool program for low‑income families. Employees have the opportunity to work with 384 children and families each school year. The program has seven centers in five cities across Winnebago, Calumet, Outagamie, and Shawano Counties. Staff wellness is prioritized through individual/group reflective practice, Practice Based Coaching, and wellness initiatives. HIRING INCENTIVE New hires working ≥21 hours/week receive a $500 bonus after 90 days. Those working ≤20 hours/week receive a $250 bonus after 90 days. Cleans, inspects, and maintains kitchen equipment and work areas. Performs routine and non‑routine food preparation activities including cook‑to‑order and specialty foods. Adheres to federal, state, campus, and local food safety regulations, policies, and procedures. Greets customers, answers questions, and provides information regarding food preparation and associated activities. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent.
