Overview Applications Support Analyst or Sr. Applications Support Analyst position at Utah Retirement Systems. We offer a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits. Responsibilities Identify and learn appropriate software applications used and supported by the Office. Run and monitor software performance tests on new and existing programs to correct errors, isolate areas for improvement, and debug; perform post-resolution follow-ups and communicate issues to stakeholders, including management, development teams, and end users. Evaluate applications for potential enhancements and determine report consolidation or elimination possibilities. Resolve complex issues related to application processes, software, servers, data, and databases. Provide technical expertise on data storage structures, data mining/migration, and data cleansing. Perform complex reviews of accounts for accuracy and conduct continuous audit functions; verify calculations on complex transactions. Participate in needs analysis with department staff; coordinate with users and senior staff to determine requirements and objectives; prioritize, schedule, and administer enhancements and defect resolutions. Review and analyze reports, forms, and information;Recommend and coordinate modifications to programs and workflows for business processes and data management; document problem-solving processes from initial identification to final resolution. Recommend and implement processes and procedures to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and control of application systems. Serve as a functional liaison between the Information Technology Department and other office departments in application and business processes; conduct technical walkthroughs to ensure requirements are met. Perform preventative maintenance, including installation of service packs, patches, hot fixes, and anti-virus software. Develop and maintain user manuals and program documentation according to standards. Maintain regular and reliable attendance and strict confidentiality. Perform other related duties as required. Qualifications Applications Support Analyst Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems, Business or a related field and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience performing organizational management, application programming, business management; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. An emphasis in Information Technology and Systems Analysis is preferred. Sr. Applications Support Analyst Bachelors Degree in Computer Information Systems, Business, or a related field and seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience performing organizational management, application programming and support, business management; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. An emphasis in information technology, data, and systems analysis is preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requires working knowledge of information system management concepts; office management practices and procedures; systems analysis and design; data analysis, troubleshooting data management; internal control principles; data communication concepts; documentation procedures; and a working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles. Ability to analyze and solve problems related to system account information; communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff; follow written and verbal instructions; and establish productive working relationships with executives, administrators, managers, professionals, department heads, and co-workers. Proficiency with programming languages and techniques (e.g., VBScript, Workflow, Microsoft Visual Studio .Net, C#, SQL Server Management Studio, SQL Server Reporting Services) and experience with enterprise and desktop applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint). Ability to develop and interpret technical documentation for training and end-user procedures; stay aware of technology trends relevant to software applications. Work Environment Typical office setting with appropriate climate controls; tasks may require walking, standing, stooping, sitting, reaching, speaking, hearing, and visual activities. Requires good eye-hand coordination to perform essential duties.
