We are seeking an experienced Principal Engineer to lead and manage our new branch office in Seattle, WA or the greater Seattle area. This role will involve recruiting and building a high-performing team of engineers, managing projects, and expanding our client base in concert with our leadership team. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in water and/or wastewater engineering. The position is expected to lead to ownership opportunities within a few years, contingent upon performance.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the establishment, management, and growth of our new branch office
  • Help recruit, build, and manage a team of engineers to support office operations and project execution
  • Assist with the development and implementation of strategies for recruiting new clients and expanding business opportunities
  • Lead project management efforts for water and wastewater engineering projects, including sewer comprehensive plans, engineering reports, and design for water/wastewater treatment, collection, distribution, water modeling, and pump stations.
  • Prepare detailed engineering reports, construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and problem-solving


Qualifications:

  • 4-year degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering
  • Washington State PE license
  • 15+ years of experience in engineering design with a focus on water and/or wastewater systems
  • Proven experience in managing engineering projects and developing client relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and oversee projects, including wastewater treatment systems, pump stations, water systems and sewer collection systems, funding, permitting, and planning reports.
  • A desire to play a key role in growing our Seattle office and contributing to the firm’s long-term success
