Job Title: Registered Nurse

Department: Clinics

Status: Full Time, Days *Float Position*

Schedule: Clinic Hours, 40 hours per week

Summary/Objective

The Nurse is responsible for assisting in the delivery of health care services under the general direction of the Clinic Coordinator and Medical Director.

Essential Functions

* Greets patients, rooms patients, takes vitals and documents pertinent information about the reason for the visit. Collects information to ensure quality measures are met and performs a medication reconciliation at every visit
* Communicates with patients in person and over the phone to ensure that their requests are documented and transferred to the appropriate clinic staff, billing staff or administrative staff to handle.
* Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
* Educates patients on disease, medications, testing and preventive care as needed.
* Assists providers in all aspects of the consultation, treatment, procedures, and follow-up care.
* Provides immunizations, injections, testing and treatments as ordered by providers.
* Ensures all samples obtained for testing are labeled appropriately for send out to the laboratory.
* Collaborates with other clinic staff, clinic coordinator and Director on process improvements and policy changes.
* Attends monthly meetings and takes an active role to ensure our patients get the best care.
* Familiarizes self with Rural Health Manual and follows policies and procedures of IMH.

Experience/Education Requirements

* Current RN license
* Proficient typist with computer skills.
* Proven Customer Service skills.
* BLS Certification

Iroquois Memorial Hospital is a 25 bed hospital located in Watseka, Illinois. The hospital facility is comprised of clinical and diagnostic services which are dedicated to providing high quality health care services to the community. These services include but are not limited to an Emergency Room, full service OR suites, an inpatient care unit, therapy services, advanced medical imaging, Home Health, and Hospice Care. The hospital operates rural health clinics in Watseka, IL, Gilman, IL, Milford, IL, Saint Anne, IL and Kentland, IN. The hospital also operates a skilled nursing facility, Iroquois Resident Home, which is attached to the hospital property.
