Red Rover Creamery is seeking experienced pastry cooks to strengthen our growing team. Full-time and part-time positions are available, including both weekday & weekend shifts. This is not an entry level position, there are growth opportunities and professional development is encouraged.

We offer competitive pay, a happy work environment and a tidy, well-lit work space. Full-time, year round employees will be eligible for paid time off and sick days. Annually, we close for 2-3 weeks beginning on December 25th.

We are a small shop that is about to get bigger. We need key people that are excited for our vision and want to contribute in a mindful and creative way. You should be familiar with daily production demands and have experience working in a professional baking environment for at least 1 year. In high season, the day to day work can be intense and at least one weekend morning is required. We value perfection over speed, and nothing is more important than having a healthy environment with good energy. We cook within the seasons as much as we can, and knowing where our ingredients come from is paramount to us. We are seeking people who bring a strong work ethic, a positive attitude and an enthusiasm for seasonal desserts, as well as share our commitment to excellent quality & service.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Understand all aspects of the pastry and ice cream menus and how to execute each component

Understand the quality of product expected by Red Rover Creamery and how to edit a product that is not to that standard

Independently complete daily pastry production tasks in a timely and meticulous manner.

Execute recipe processes and techniques to ensure consistency and quality

Participate in kitchen and customer area cleaning activities

Cross-train in front of house to assist ice cream bartisas as needed

Works cleanly, ensuring that every station is cleaned after every project executed

Assist other team members when needed.

Communicates with all team members respectfully and professionally

Maximize efficiency in all areas of production and execute proper time management during shifts

Work gracefully in a fast-paced, high-volume workplace

Work in a thoughtful manner when executing any and all tasks

Ask for help when it is needed

Minimum Requirements:

Be 18 years of age or older

Must have a high school diploma, formal culinary education is preferred, but not required.

A minimum of 2 years' experience in kitchen preparation.

Effective oral communication skills and the ability to work as a team player.

Must be well groomed and maintain proper hygiene.

Must display the ethical and professional standards set forth by Red Rover Creamery.

Stamina and availability to work in a standing position at least 40 hours per week, including weekends and some holidays.

Able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
