Job Description

This role is crucial in ensuring our production facilities adhere to all regulatory and company-specific sanitation requirements. The ideal candidate will have a background in sanitation or quality practices within the food manufacturing sector and demonstrate the leadership skills necessary to manage a team effectively. This position offers a clear path for career advancement, potentially leading to a Quality Management role in the future.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive sanitation programs that comply with local, state, and federal regulations as well as industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular sanitation audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with all applicable standards.
  • Lead, train, and manage a team of sanitation staff, providing them with the guidance and resources needed to perform their duties effectively and safely.
  • Collaborate with production and quality assurance teams to coordinate sanitation activities and minimize downtime without compromising food safety or quality.
  • Stay informed on the latest developments in sanitation technologies and practices, and implement innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Manage the use and maintenance of sanitation equipment and supplies, ensuring they are used correctly and are in good working condition.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports on sanitation activities, findings from audits and inspections, and corrective actions taken.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to any sanitation emergencies or issues that arise, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Job Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a sanitation or quality role within the food manufacturing industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • A thorough understanding of sanitation standards, practices, and regulations relevant to the food manufacturing industry.
  • Proficiency in problem-solving and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks and projects efficiently.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and improvement in both personal and professional capacities.
