The HR Generalist plus Safety will assist with the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including hiring, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.  Will assist with implement Safety procedures, guidelines, and train employees to promote and ensure industrial safety and health.

Job Title: HR Generalist plus Safety

Location: Ludington, MI

Pay Range: $24.00-$26.00 an hour.

 

What’s the Job?
 

  • HR Generalist
    • Assists with Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
    • Conducts or assists with new hire orientation.
    • Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
    • Assists with routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
    • Assists with employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
    • Assists with employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
    • Assists with Maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
    • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Safety
    • Tours the facility and communicates with workers to identify safety risks and concerns.
    • Drafts reports, highlighting dangerous procedures, machinery, and other risks for management review.
    • Assist with Reporting, monitoring, and correcting safety problems.
    • Adopts a proactive approach to providing a safe working environment; provides training and guidance to employees via safety bulletins, documentation, and training meetings.
    • Maintains knowledge of hazard prevention and safety best practices, and developments.

Education and Experience:
  • Associate degree in related field preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Certificate course completion of training in related field preferred.
  • OSHA 30 Card for general industry preferred.
