Theatre Aspen, the award-winning professional theatre company located in the heart of the Colorado mountains, is accepting applications for a seasonal Marketing Associate to join our summer staff. Situated in one the most unique destinations in the world, Theatre Aspen is the region's most celebrated theatrical institution and has been a fixture of the community for over forty years, attracting a long litany of renowned performers.

This Marketing Associate is crucial in assisting with developing and executing marketing strategies to drive ticket sales and enhance the visibility of Theatre Aspen's acclaimed productions. Key responsibilities include creating compelling content for social media, email newsletters, and press releases, managing social media profiles with an analytical approach, and assisting in designing visual marketing assets. The Marketing Associate will support PR efforts by building media relationships and promoting theatre events locally. Other duties involve assisting with market research to identify trends, supporting sponsorship initiatives, managing the marketing budget, and helping maintain the theatre's website. The ideal candidate will possess proven expertise in social media marketing, excellent communication skills, creative thinking, and a passion for the performing arts. Working in collaboration with the marketing director, production team, and other staff, this role plays a pivotal part in advancing Theatre Aspen's mission and enhancing its influential community presence.

Duties:
  1. Marketing Strategy Support: Assist the Director of Marketing in developing and executing marketing strategies for promoting the theatre company's productions and events with the goal of driving ticket sales.
  2. Content Creation: Create compelling and engaging marketing content, including copywriting for social media posts, email newsletters, press releases, and promotional materials.
  3. Social Media Management: Manage the theatre company's social media profiles, including posting updates, engaging with followers, and tracking social media analytics.
  4. Email Marketing: Help plan and execute email marketing campaigns, including list management, content creation, and performance analysis.
  5. Creative Design: Collaborate with graphic designers or design software (Adobe / Canva) to create visual assets for marketing campaigns, such as posters, flyers, and digital graphics.
  6. Event Promotion: Assist in promoting theatre productions and events by distributing posters to key locations in town, social media, outreach to other organizations to promote TA events, main street banners, rack card creation.
  7. Market Research: Conduct research on competitors, and audience demographics to identify trends and opportunities.
  8. Public Relations: Support the Director of Marketing in building and maintaining relationships with local media outlets, bloggers, and influencers to secure press coverage.
  9. Analytics and Reporting: Analyze the performance of marketing campaigns using tools like Google Analytics and social media insights and provide regular reports to the Director of Marketing.
  10. Audience Engagement: Engage with the theatre company's audience through online platforms, addressing inquiries, comments, and concerns promptly.
  11. Ticket Sales Support: Assist in managing and tracking ticket sales, promotions, and special offers to drive audience attendance.
  12. Budget Management: Help monitor and manage the marketing budget, submitting and tracking invoices for payment.
  13. Sponsorship and Partnerships: Support the Director of Marketing in identifying and developing partnerships and sponsorship opportunities to enhance marketing efforts. Assist in selling advertising in the summer program to help reach revenue goals.
  14. Summer Program Ad Sales and Production: Assist in selling advertising in the summer program to help reach revenue goals. Assist in the layout of the summer program utilizing an online web app, help copy edit content, collaborate with clients to gather artwork for the program, create invoices, and collect payment for ad sales. Coordinate with the production team, Intern Coordinator, and Director of Artistic Planning to collect bios and headshots for the summer program.
  15. Website Maintenance: Assist in maintaining and updating the theatre company's website, ensuring content is up-to-date and relevant.
  16. Administrative Tasks: Handle administrative duties, such as scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, and organizing marketing-related files and documents.
  17. Promotional Events: Coordinate and participate in promotional events such as the Local Pass Sale and opening night receptions, and community engagement to increase the theatre company's visibility.
  18. Customer Feedback: Collect and analyze customer feedback and surveys to improve marketing strategies and the overall theatre experience.
  19. Flexibility: Be adaptable and willing to assist with various marketing and promotional tasks as needed to support the theatre company's goals.
  20. Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Director of Marketing, the production team, and other staff members to ensure marketing efforts align with the theatre company's mission and objectives.
Qualifications:
  1. Proven experience in social media marketing.
  2. In-depth knowledge of FB / Instagram and other social media platforms, trends, and best practices.
  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  4. Creative thinking and the ability to develop engaging content ideas.
  5. Proficiency in social media analytics and reporting tools.
  6. Strong organizational and project management skills.
  7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  8. Passion for Theatre and the performing arts a plus.
Dates: June 2 – September 15, 2025

Pay: $800-1000 per week with housing and travel provided.
