ResponsibilitiesLeads detailed reviews of civil, architectural, and structural subcontractor’s budget pricing; obtains and presents unit pricing dataOutlines clarifications and qualifications within an estimateSecures and contacts sources for cost estimates for all specialty itemsIdentifies indirect costs and General Condition items within estimatePossess and applies knowledge of unit prices and the material/labor componentsEstablishes and maintains relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricingProduces manpower estimates to coincide with construction estimateCompiles complete estimate/bid package breakdown based on input from othersEstablishes estimating protocols for specific types of documentationUse of Gilbane’s Baseline estimating playbook and toolsMay be required to assist with tasks typically assigned to more junior positionsQualificationsEXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONAssociate’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management; bachelor’s degree preferred1-5+ years of relevant experienceOr equivalent combination of education and experienceKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESKnowledge of On-Screen Take-off, Destini, and Procore BiddingAbility to complete quantity takeoffs for assigned divisions or building componentsAbility to obtain and scope trade contractor budget pricing proposalsAbility to provide qualifications and clarifications for items that were quantifiedStrong written and verbal skillsAbility to work in a team-based environmentProficient in Microsoft Office programsUnderstanding of Contract Document and SpecificationsKnowledge of applying unit costs to quantity takeoff for discipline specific estimatesAbility to assist the estimating lead with the compilation of the estimating deliverablesSalary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team.For San Jose, this ranges from $101,200.00-$126,500.00 plus benefits and retirement program.Gilbane offers an excellent total compensation package which includes competitive health and welfare benefits and a generous profit-sharing/401k plan.
