With a dedicated Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) and Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit (CVPCU), Martin North Hospital is the cardiac hub of Cleveland Clinic Martin Health.Role OverviewAs a Registered Nurse (RN) in the CVPCU, you will provide direct nursing care, monitor patient status, communicate findings, implement care plans, and administer medications and treatments. Your work supports patients’ recovery and ensures world‑class care every day.Ideal CandidateCurrent state licensure as a Registered Nurse.Thrives in a team environment.Critically thinks and solves problems for patients’ best interests.Highly motivated and eager to learn.Adaptable and flexible.Training: The Cardiovascular PCU requires 6 weeks of training prior to PRN scheduling (48 hours every 6 weeks).ResponsibilitiesProvide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols.Implement and monitor patient care plans.Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.Document patient condition and effectiveness of care or interventions.Evaluate, update, and revise care plans to achieve expected outcomes.Serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well‑coordinated patient care.Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing protocol.Carry out physician and nursing orders.Coordinate discharge planning with the healthcare team.Assess and address educational needs of patients and significant others.Provide teaching and educational material as appropriate.Validate and document patient and family understanding of care instructions.Maintain professional growth through ongoing education and clinical study.Perform other duties as assigned.EducationGraduate from an accredited school of professional nursing; BSN preferred.CertificationsCurrent state licensure as RN.Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) via AHA upon hire.Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) via AHA within first year for most RN positions.Additional certifications (NRP, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, VARN, CRNI, etc.) as required by unit specialty within the first year.Complexity of WorkRequires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.Must handle stressful environments and take appropriate action.Work ExperienceMinimum one year current acute care RN experience in a hospital setting.Minimum one year in SNF, rehab, or ED settings as applicable.Licensed military RN experience will be considered.Physical RequirementsFull range of body motion; handle and lift patients; manual & finger dexterity.Extended standing and walking needed.Corrected vision and hearing required.Ability to work under stressful conditions and irregular hours.Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.Physical exertion up to 50 pounds occasionally.Personal Protective EquipmentFollow standard precautions using PPE as required.CompensationSalary ranges are discussed at the time of application and hiring.Job DetailsSeniority level: Entry levelEmployment type: Part‑timeJob function: OtherIndustry: Hospitals and Health Care #J-18808-Ljbffr
