Principal Hardware GPU/AI Developer Oracle Position Overview We are seeking a highly driven GPU Platform Hardware Engineer at the Senior Engineer level, leading the development and day‑to‑day engineering efforts for Oracle’s rapidly growing Cloud AI platforms. Responsibilities Review and assess third‑party merchant silicon. Evaluate system architecture and proposed implementation paths. Participate in platform definition and analysis. Provide development oversight for partners. Work with in‑house functional experts on design reviews. Support system integration, performance testing, debugging and characterization. Support program managers on technical assessments. Document and specify design intent and details with engineering teams. Participate in hardware platform security evaluations. Guide partner internal teams on scaling, monitoring, and successful deployment to the Cloud. Assist Oracle Cloud and Support teams in root‑cause analysis through lab, remote, or on‑site debugging. Work with manufacturing teams to ensure secure, robust, high‑performing hardware for cloud customers. Required Qualifications Hands‑on experience with leading GPU or AI platforms from development, testing, and characterization perspectives. Strong knowledge of AI/GPU platform architecture and capabilities. Experience running firmware and system diagnostics tools (BMC, UEFI/BIOS, Linux) and scripting for test customization. Experience with GPU supplier test code and open‑source AI test/characterization tools. Experience designing and implementing server platforms across x86 and ARM architectures. Experience developing at board and FPGA levels. Proficiency with board ECAD tools, schematic review, multilayer layout, interconnect analysis. Excellent communication skills to articulate complex technical issues across disciplines. Experience debugging and root‑causing hardware and software issues. Experience with early‑stage bring‑up, firmware debugging, and complex platform debugging. Knowledge of high‑speed buses and interconnects used in modern compute and AI platforms. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of low‑level hardware interfaces (PCIe, SPI, I2C, SMBus, PMBus, LPC, eSPI, etc.). Comfortable using hardware debuggers, oscilloscopes, and advanced signal characterization tools. Experience with platform security technologies. Salary & Benefits US: Hiring Range in USD from: $96,800 – $223,400 per year. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
