Job Title: Lead Principal Machine Learning Engineer

Job Description:
We are seeking a Lead Principal Machine Learning Engineer to spearhead the development of cutting-edge deep learning solutions. Leverage your expertise in machine learning, data science, and engineering to analyze high-resolution, high-velocity image and measurement data, driving innovations that enhance device performance and manufacturing yield at scale.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy
Lead and mentor a team of machine learning engineers to develop advanced deep learning models for manufacturing metrology and image analysis.
Establish and standardize workflows for model development, deployment, and maintenance.
Serve as the team's primary resource and expert in machine learning and data science methodologies.

Collaboration & Integration
Partner with hardware and metrology teams to design and implement automated inspection technologies.
Collaborate with software infrastructure teams to create scalable deep learning pipelines.
Work alongside a multidisciplinary team of engineers and scientists focused on material and product innovations.

Development & Deployment
Build and deploy edge machine learning solutions for high-throughput, automated manufacturing steps.
Optimize training and inference on GPU systems for real-time performance.
Identify and manage external resources (e.g., contractors, consulting firms) to extend capacity and bring new capabilities.

Continuous Learning
Stay updated on emerging machine learning and deep learning methodologies, integrating advancements into the processes.




Required Skills & Qualifications

Education & Experience:
BS in Computer Science, Materials Science, Physics, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
At least 8 years of combined academic and professional experience in deep learning for quantitative data analysis.
Minimum 2 years of experience leading or managing teams in machine learning or related fields.

4+ years of work experience with Machine Learning
4+ years of work experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Working in an onsite setting
4+ years of work experience with Pandas (Software)

Technical Skills:
Expertise in deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face).
Proficiency with Python and data analysis tools (e.g., Pandas, scikit-learn).
Experience with MLOps and leveraging cloud platforms like AWS or Google Cloud.
Fluency in programming languages such as Python and C/C++.

Domain Expertise:
Proven experience in developing and deploying machine learning solutions in manufacturing or physical sciences.
Extensive experience with quantitative image data analysis.




Highly Desired Qualifications

Experience optimizing training and inference across multiple GPUs.
Domain knowledge in manufacturing or physical sciences.
Advanced expertise in deep learning for complex image segmentation and object detection tasks.
Familiarity with edge computing and continuous data stream processing for real-time inference.

Ability to thrive in a dynamic, technically challenging environment.
Strong collaboration skills, working effectively in multi-disciplinary teams.
Adaptability to navigate and drive innovation in a rapidly evolving field.
