Kelly, in partnership with a premier university, is seeking an experienced Accountant 2.   
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced individual to join our clients Procurement and Accounts Payable team.
 In this role, you will be responsible for the accounting and reconciliation of expenditures, ensuring compliance with federal requirements and regulations, and providing financial oversight of various payables accounts. Your primary objective will be to lead, advise, and support the Procurement and Accounts Payable teams in maintaining accurate financial records and implementing proactive measures within your scope of responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Establish, maintain, and administer accounts payable accounting, ensuring the integrity of Procurement and Accounts Payable accounts.
- Analyze financial activity, investigate discrepancies, and maintain ongoing dialogue with management.
- Develop and implement procedures to ensure the smooth flow of confidential data and maintain data integrity and internal controls.
- Perform analytical reviews of accounts, propose journal entries, and reconcile accounts.
- Prepare financial statements, journals, ledgers, and other complex financial reports.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors for accounts payable services and participate in internal audits.
- Provide expertise and recommendations in preparing the annual budget and projecting year-end account balances.
- Monitor potential issues/trends, make recommendations for change or improvement, and escalate matters when necessary.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required.
- 3 to 5 years of related work experience in accounting, finance, or a similar field.
-  Strong understanding of budgeting, accounting principles, financial reporting, and account reconciliation.
- Experience with accounts payable operations, analysis, and reconciliation is highly desired.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel..
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving ability.
