The Great Falls Clinic, which is located within the newly built Inova Schar Cancer Institute, is an outpatient physician clinic whose team members work closely and expertly with our board-certified oncologists and advanced practitioners to serve patients for various oncology specialties.
The clinic is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The clinics are closed for the seven recognized Inova holidays and there are no on-call requirements. Our team members work five 8 hour shifts. Sign on bonus available for experienced RN's.
RN oncology experience highly preferred. RN’s with ED, Critical Care, surgical and acute care background are encouraged to apply. Oncology fellowship classes are offered upon hire. This role will specifically work with our Urology surgical oncology team - some floating to other Schar clinics may be required from time to time.
The Registered Nurse provides knowledgeable and caring clinical practice and care coordination through an understanding of patients, families, nurses and healthcare delivery teams. Consistently provides safe and therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way while incorporating differences into the provision of care and conducting all patient care in a patient/family centered manner. Integrates knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum, to include patient and family education. Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with others while having respect for and an understanding of other clinical disciplines. Determines processes for delivery of care from direct patient/family communication, technology and other healthcare team member collaboration.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A minimum of 1 year of Registered Nurse clinical experience.
Education: BSN or ADN - If ADN then complete BSN within 24 months of start date- If Associates Degree RN-Within 6 months of start date, meet with nurse leader. Identify which Accredited School the employee plans to attend. Submit a review of transcript from the school indicating the required pre-requisites and timeline for taking the courses. Provide a written plan with anticipated BSN completion date.
- BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification from the American Heart Association required
- RN licensed, and eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Proficient in English, strong verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional interpersonal skill and the ability to display a caring demeanor towards others. Proficient computer skills required.
