Job Title Assistant Director, Secondary Enrollment Partnerships, Enrollment Management Job Overview Launch UC is UC's Secondary Enrollment Partnership generator, responsible for programs such as College Credit Plus, Dual Enrollment, Tech Prep, and Early College. The Assistant Director, Secondary Enrollment Partnerships will serve as Assistant Director of Student Affairs and Academic Advising by providing leadership and strategic oversight of student affairs and academic advising functions within the unit. This role ensures a holistic approach to student success through policy advocacy and integrating academic guidance with co-curricular support. The Assistant Director collaborates across departments to develop and implement initiatives that enhance the student experience, promote matriculation, retention, student success, and uphold university standards. Essential Functions Assist with the direction of an advising center or office with primary responsibilities for select day-to-day operations and administrative management in which decisions and quality execution have significant impact on internal and external relations. Develop internal policies, procedures, controls, and manage processes to increase internal business and/or external partnerships and advance service levels; responsible for policy execution and results that enrich the department/center, the campus and the university; and the external partners; consult with Director on major policy changes affecting other departments. Develop long-range plans and strategies to achieve unit, department and university goals for areas of responsibility, monitor and achieve established goals. May advise a limited caseload of current and prospective students about how to meet their educational, professional, and personal goals. Represent the university and department in partner or potential partner school visits, information sessions, and special events both on campus and on site with partners. Engage with parents, students, and partners to collaborate, mediate, negotiate, and coordinate solutions. Attend meetings on behalf of the Director or Associate Director, consults with Director and Associate Director on major policy changes effective other departments, authority to grant exceptions, may function as the Director or Associate Director in his/her absence as required. Assist with administrative leadership of exempt and non-exempt staff. Hire, orient, train, and mentor staff; monitor and coordinate staff development and training programs. Prepare reports, disseminate/interpret information, provide advice, write proposals, deliver presentations, construct contractual agreements, and ensure that all programs and services comply with the university, state and federal regulations. Maintain collaborative relationships with colleges/departments/units regarding program and advising efforts that enrich the student experience and advance university goals. Maintain and stay abreast of trends in advising technologies and changes in academic programs and transition requirements. Assist with program recommendations on communications and technology trainings and implementations. Serve on various university, division, and departmental committees. Represent the department at various state and national associations. May teach one or more college level courses. May provide direct or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e. hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.). Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time. Minimum Requirements Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree Required Experience: Three (3) years related experience Additional Experience: Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement Additional Qualifications Considered Master Degree Three (3) years of academic advising or student affairs experience Physical Requirements / Work Environment Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
