Overview The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) Marlene & Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center (UMGCCC) is seeking a full‑time Clinical Research Specialist for its Solid Tumor research program. The specialist will manage a portfolio of cutting‑edge therapeutic trials, serve as the primary interface for patients and faculty, screen and enroll patients, guide them through protocol procedures, collect and manage data, and coordinate with investigators, medical staff, sponsors, and data managers. Responsibilities Screen, consent, enroll, and guide patients through study procedures and visits. Collect, audit, and clean study data; verify data accuracy and quality control. Coordinate protocol development, IRB/HIPAA compliance, and policy implementation. Maintain electronic databases (Excel, Access) and perform advanced data analysis (SAS, SPSS, R). Provide subject support, maintain study documentation, and communicate protocol status. Collaborate with IRB, sponsor representatives, clinical teams, and other departments to promote efficient operations. Assist in study design, budget monitoring, and grant and manuscript preparation. Offer training to junior researchers and contribute to publication efforts. Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field or related to clinical research. Experience Three (3) years of clinical research, including at least two (2) years in a relevant research specialization; preferred experience with patient interaction. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong understanding of scientific/medical terminology and research theory. Ability to perform independent projects. Team‑orientated communication and networking skills. Knowledge of human subjects research regulations and policies. Represent the Cancer Center and faculty professionally.
