Public Safety Operator

LACC is a public safety answering point. Employees answer 9-1-1, public and allied agency lines, as well as making out-going calls to service providers, allied agencies and citizens. PSOs must be able to document information into a computer aided dispatch (Inform CAD) system quickly and accurately and take appropriate action on each call. The classification requires a certified net typing speed of 40 words per minute.

Working Conditions
LACC is on a 3/12 alternate work week and a 4/10 work week. Quarterly sign-ups are done on a seniority basis.
Daily use of computer requiring typing and sitting or standing for extended periods of time.

The Los Angeles Communications Center dispatch employees receive an additional $750.00 recruitment and retention monthly pay differential . Part-time and intermittent employees shall receive a pro rata share of the monthly differential based on the total number of hours worked within the monthly pay period.
