Aircraft Mechanic Assistants will perform turbine washes utilizing Cyclean wash equipment. Providing after-hours maintenance on-call support for the regional operational bases as directed. Maintain records related to maintenance performed on the aircraft. The Mechanic Assistant will based out of JFK for Military contracts.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ability to always maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
- Knowledge of computers
- Routine inspections of the engine, and aircraft system.
- Airframe, power plant modifications required to meet company and FAA requirements.
- Basic Knowledge of Removal and disassembly of aircraft parts for washing
- Operates all power tools and equipment necessary to accomplish job assignment.
- Accurately records time worked on a work order.
- Presents a clean and neat work area to our customers.
- Tows and parks aircraft.
- Performs other aircraft maintenance work as may be required.
- Must be able to pass e-verify
Minimum Qualifications, skills, and abilities:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Knowledge and Understanding of the English Language
- Excellent Communication Skills
- 1 year of previous line maintenance experience preferred, not Required
- Military Experience preferred, not required
- U.S citizenship Required
- Ability to legally operate a motorized vehicle
- Basic aircraft Knowledge
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess the ability to:
- Stand
- Lie down
- Kneel
- Climb stairs, scaffolds or ladders
- Frequently lift, pull, and hold objects weighing more than 70 pounds
- Noise and vibration are common when engines are on, so ear protection is necessary.
* Working conditions: Turbine Washers usually work outdoors, sometimes in unpleasant weather. Often work under time pressure to maintain flight schedules to keep from inconveniencing customers. At the same time, turbine washers have a tremendous responsibility to maintain safety standards. *
