Job Description:
Principle Responsibilities
- Performs psychological evaluations, individual psychotherapy, and group psychotherapy.
- Utilizes various empirically supported treatment modalities.
- As a member of the inpatient treatment team, works with psychiatry, social work, nursing, clinical therapy and other disciplines to support patient recovery.
- Utilize behavioral principles to address specific patient behaviors that interfere with treatment or impede discharge.
- Meet requirements of third-party payers.
- Coordinate treatment with other members of the inpatient treatment team and community agencies.
- Reassess patient needs and progress per department policy/procedure.
- May provide general consultations, staff training, and education on psychological topics to inpatient mental health staff and the greater Allina system.
Job Requirements
- Doctoral/Ph.D. level advanced degree in Psychology or Counseling required
Exposure to or experience in inpatient treatment preferred
- 2+ years in patient treatment in clinical setting preferred
- Licensed Psychologist - MN Board of Psychology required upon hire and
- BLS Tier 1 - Basic Life Support - Multisource preferred within 60 Days
