Shift: Nights / 7p-7a, 12x3, 36 hrs per week, Every other weekend expectation
Length: 13 weeks
Holiday Expectations: varies by year and staffing
Requirements:
  • WA License
  • 1 year minimum of experience
  • General MS skill set: management of drains/tubes, NG placement and management, medication administration, foley care
  • BLS
  • ONS Chemo certification 
Other Details:
  • Will take a first-time traveler
  • Beds: 54 beds total: 36 on 6 Rainier and 18 beds on 7 Olympic
  • Must complete Rhythm Interpretation Exam as part of Compliance
  • Floating: MSU, ED Holding, MS Overflow
  • Patient Ratios: 1:5, Team nursing: 1:7; will have LPN
Support on the Unit:
  • Charge nurse is without patient assignment
  • HUC: Day shift only
  • Break/Resource Nurse: (LPN) will ensure you get all your breaks when staffing allows
  • Phlebotomy: Lab draws
  • Vascular Access Team will do central line dressing changes (if order is put in)
  • RT & Hospitalist in-house 24/7
  • Clinical educators on the unit shared between all medical units
  • OT, PT, ST (M-F)
Charting System/Equipment:
  • EPIC (preferred or strong computer skills)
  • BD Alaris IV Pumps
  • Pyxis (medication dispensing)
  • Centralized Tele Monitoring with tele tech
