We are seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent with expertise in both commercial and residential projects to join our team in Gaithersburg, MD. The Electrical Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing all electrical aspects of projects, ensuring smooth operations, adherence to safety standards, and timely completion. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of electrical systems, excellent leadership skills, and a track record of managing successful projects in both commercial and residential settings.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning and Coordination:

– Collaborate with project managers to develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and timelines.

– Coordinate and manage mechanical/HVAC activities, including system installation, testing, and commissioning.

– Monitor project progress and take corrective actions to ensure adherence to schedules.

2. Team Leadership:

– Lead and supervise mechanical/HVAC teams, subcontractors, and technicians, ensuring high-quality work and safety compliance.

– Delegate tasks, provide clear instructions, and offer guidance to team members.

– Foster a positive and collaborative work environment to enhance productivity.

3. Quality and Safety Compliance:

– Ensure all mechanical and HVAC work meets industry standards, codes, regulations, and safety protocols.

– Conduct regular safety inspections, identify potential hazards, and take proactive measures to address concerns.

– Uphold a culture of safety consciousness and awareness among all team members.

4. Resource Management:

– Manage and allocate resources, including materials, equipment, and labor, to achieve project objectives.

– Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of necessary mechanical and HVAC supplies.

5. Client Communication:

– Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding mechanical and HVAC-related matters.

– Provide regular updates on project progress, address client inquiries, and ensure client satisfaction.

6. Issue Resolution:

– Identify and resolve technical issues and challenges related to mechanical/HVAC systems in a timely manner.

– Collaborate with cross-functional teams to devise effective solutions and minimize project disruptions.

7. Documentation and Reporting:

– Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, progress logs, and change orders.

– Prepare and submit regular project status reports to project managers and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certifications preferred.

Extensive experience (X+ years) as a Mechanical/HVAC Superintendent in both commercial and residential construction.

In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, HVAC installations, codes, regulations, and industry best practices.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire diverse teams.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical and HVAC blueprints and technical drawings.

Familiarity with mechanical estimating, budgeting, and cost control.

Problem-solving aptitude and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.

Valid HVAC and mechanical licenses, as well as OSHA certifications, are advantageous.

Familiarity with Gaithersburg, MD, construction regulations and local suppliers is a plus.
