Work Shift Full time Department CC094235 MRI Technology Summary A Senior MRI Technologist is an expert technologist who performs quality MRI exams safely and timely while providing excellent patient care. May serve as a preceptor to other staff members and act as lead when the Lead MRI Technologist is out. Required Education Associate's degree or equivalent from a two‑year college program, technical school, or nursing diploma Recommended Education Bachelor's degree from a four‑year college or university Required Work Experience Direct – 6 years of experience Recommended Work Experience Direct – Pediatric Required Certifications One of the following license or registry is required. Recommended Certifications ARRT – MRI Specialist (American Registry of Radiology Technologist) ARMRIT – American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists Description Expert MRI technologist and may serve as a preceptor in performing diagnostic scans as directed by radiologists. Expert in utilizing correct scan protocols while optimizing image quality, decreasing scan length and repeat procedures; demonstrates knowledge of patient positioning and coil selection. May serve as a preceptor to properly screen patients, families, and staff with attention to pregnancy and MRI contraindications. May serve as a preceptor in adhering to all safety recommendations regarding MRI. Ensures that work area is properly maintained. May serve as a preceptor in troubleshooting and reporting malfunctioning equipment. Assists with service recovery, ensuring proactive communication with patients and families. Participates in performance improvement activities; complies with all TJC, state, federal, and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols. Performs other duties as assigned. #J-18808-Ljbffr
