A3 Medical-Surgical Unit:
Brockton Hospital's A3 Medical-Surgical Unit is a vibrant and high-energy unit where our primary focus is on providing exceptional care for surgical patients, specializing in orthopedic and bariatric surgery. Committed to delivering the highest quality care, our dynamic team thrives on continuous improvement, regularly reviewing best practices to stay at the forefront of medical-surgical advancements. Emphasizing teamwork and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, our leadership is dedicated to fostering a positive and supportive environment. Assessment: collects relevant patient health data (age-specific pertinent to specialty area).
+ Diagnosis: analyzes the assessment data in determining nursing diagnoses.
+ Planning/Implementation: develops and implements Plan of Care that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes.
+ Evaluation: evaluates and documents the patient's progress toward attaining expected outcomes in the patient medical record.
+ Provide nursing care to assigned patients.
+ Counsels, educate, and includes patients and their families in accordance with the overall plan of care.
+ Quality of Care: systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.
+ Individual Practice Evaluation: reflects knowledge of current professional practice standards, laws, regulations, and changes in health care delivery, in daily practice.
+ Education: acquires and maintains current knowledge and competency in the care of patients.
+ Collegiality: interacts with and contributes to the professional development of peers and other healthcare providers as colleagues.
+ Collaboration: collaborates with the team, consisting of patient, family, and healthcare providers, in providing patient care in a healing, humane, and caring environment.
+ Resource Utilization: considers factors related to safety, effectiveness and cost in planning and delivering patient care.
