Newark Beth Israel Medical Center (NBIMC), a nationally recognized quaternary care center and flagship cardiovascular hospital within RWJBarnabas Health, is seeking an accomplished Cardiac Electrophysiologist to serve as Director of Cardiac Electrophysiology and The Arrhythmia Center. This is a key leadership opportunity for a physician with a passion for complex EP procedures, including ventricular tachycardia (VT) ablation, academic medicine, and program development.The Director will build and lead a high-performing team at NBIMC and The Arrhythmia Center, which also provides EP services across the region to Trinitas Regional Medical Center and RWJ Rahway University Hospital.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide clinical and administrative leadership for Cardiac Electrophysiology services at NBIMC and affiliated hospitals.Perform a wide range of electrophysiologic procedures with particular expertise in complex VT ablation, atrial fibrillation ablation, and device implantation.Direct the growth and integration of The Arrhythmia Center, enhancing regional access to advanced EP care.Foster a culture of excellence in teaching, mentorship, and academic engagement, working closely with cardiology fellows and residents.Lead and participate in quality improvement, clinical innovation, and research efforts.Collaborate with advanced heart failure, imaging, interventional, and cardiac surgical teams to deliver comprehensive, multidisciplinary care.Guide strategic planning for EP services, including resource allocation, technology acquisition, and faculty recruitment.Ensure high standards of care aligned with national guidelines and accreditation requirements.Position NBIMC as the leader in electrophysiology services throughout the state.Lead NBI’s ACGME-accredited clinical cardiac electrophysiology fellowship and provide mentorship to faculty and trainees.QualificationsMD or DO from an accredited medical school.Board certified in Cardiology and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology.Demonstrated expertise in VT ablation and complex arrhythmia management.Proven leadership experience in an academic or high-volume clinical EP setting.Strong interest in teaching, clinical research, and academic leadership.Eligible for medical licensure in New Jersey.Commitment to advancing equitable and high-quality cardiovascular care.Why Join NBIMC and RWJBarnabas Health?Lead a regional center of excellence in electrophysiology serving multiple hospitals.Collaborate within one of the largest and most comprehensive health systems in New Jersey.Access to state-of-the-art EP labs with advanced mapping systems, ICE, and robotic technologies.Opportunity for faculty appointment and involvement in nationally recognized clinical programs.Competitive compensation and benefits package, including CME support and leadership incentives.Supportive environment for academic pursuits, innovation, and career development.To learn more about this position and other opportunities throughout New Jersey and with RWJBarnabas Health, please contact us at Henry.Fishbein@rwjbh.org
