About the job Within Google Cloud, Looker is the core of our Business Intelligence and analytics platform. Our mission is to reinvent BI by moving it from a 'descriptive' (what happened) tool to a 'prescriptive' and 'collaborative' partner (what should we do next?). We are doing this by deeply infusing Generative AI into the Looker platform. We believe this is a 100x opportunity to change how the world interacts with data. This role is central to that mission, defining how we leverage Looker's unique semantic layer to provide trusted, governed, and conversational data experiences to everyone. In this role, you will be an expert visionary and generalist, leading the technical and architectural reinvention of the Looker platform. You will define and drive the long-term strategic technical priorities for integrating AI as a core competency into our BI product. You will be responsible for defining how Generative AI, machine learning, and our semantic layer (LookML) will converge to create a truly conversational, trusted, and predictive analytics experience. This role will employ a hybrid approach of direct technical guidance, mentorship, and risk/growth management. You will act as an escalation point for technical decisions across the team (when necessary) and function as a trusted partner for other VP+ leaders in defining strategy and shaping our investment portfolio. Additionally, you will function as a trusted partner and key technical influencer both internally and externally. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $294,000-$414,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
