We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Licensed Practical Nurse to join our dynamic team and ensure that our surgical center delivers compassionate care to our patients.

*Job Summary:*

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will play a vital role in the ophthalmic surgery center by providing direct patient care, assisting with pre-operative and post-operative procedures, and supporting the clinical team. This position requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

*Key Responsibilities:*

· *Patient Care:* Provide direct care to patients, including taking vital signs, administering medications, and performing basic nursing procedures. Assist with patient preparation for surgery, including pre-operative assessments and education.

· *Surgical Assistance:* Support ophthalmic surgeons and other medical staff during surgical procedures. Prepare and maintain sterile environments, assist with instrumentation, and ensure patient comfort and safety.

· *Post-Operative Care:* Monitor patients post-operatively, assess recovery progress, and provide instructions for aftercare. Educate patients and their families on post-operative care and follow-up instructions.

· *Documentation: *Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical history, treatment plans, and progress notes. Ensure proper documentation of surgical procedures and outcomes.

· *Patient Communication: *Serve as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers, addressing patient concerns and providing clear explanations of procedures and care plans.

· *Compliance:* Adhere to all regulatory and safety standards, including infection control protocols and confidentiality regulations. Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare policies and procedures.

· *Team Collaboration:* Work collaboratively with ophthalmologists, optometrists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care. Participate in staff meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

*Qualifications:*

· *Education*: Completion of an accredited LPN program.

· *Experience:* Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience is ideal, preferably in an ophthalmic or surgical setting.

· *Skills:* Proficiency in basic nursing skills, including vital signs, medication administration, and wound care. Familiarity with ophthalmic procedures and equipment is a plus.

· *Attributes:* Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Compassionate, patient-focused, and able to work efficiently under pressure.

· *Knowledge:* Understanding of ophthalmic conditions, procedures, and medications. Knowledge of infection control practices and patient safety protocols.
