Base pay range $70.00/hr - $80.00/hr Position Title: Database Administrator III Position Status: Contract Position Description: We are seeking an experienced Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to lead the installation, configuration, performance tuning, security, and maintenance of mission-critical databases. This role is ideal for a proactive professional who excels in optimizing database performance, solving complex issues, and contributing to strategic database architecture and automation. You will collaborate with technical teams, participate in key projects, recommend enhancements to standards and practices, and support the smooth transition of new systems and applications. This is a high-impact role requiring strong database expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Provide expert-level support, maintenance, and troubleshooting for Oracle database environments. Perform complex database installation, configuration, upgrades, backup/recovery, and performance tuning. Analyze and resolve issues in critical database configurations to ensure high availability and reliability. Manage database security, change management, and adherence to standards and best practices. Design, develop, modify, test, and optimize database programs, scripts, and tools. Collaborate on database architecture, capacity planning, and infrastructure design. Contribute to strategic initiatives and provide technical guidance on functional and business requirements. Participate in cross-functional projects and serve as a database subject matter expert. Assist with system transitions, implementation planning, and user support. Adapt to organizational culture and continuously improve database management processes. Perform additional related duties as needed. Required Skills / Education Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience). 7+ years of hands-on experience as an Oracle Database Administrator. Proven expertise in Oracle database installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades. Strong background in performance tuning, backup/recovery (RMAN), and high availability solutions. Experience with PL/SQL development, scripting, automation, and database optimization. Knowledge of database security, compliance, and change management practices. Ability to analyze complex issues and resolve production-level database problems. Experience supporting large-scale, mission-critical database environments. Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills. Ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment. Adaptable, proactive, and committed to continuous learning. Preferred (Nice to Have) Experience with cloud databases (AWS, Azure, OCI). Knowledge of data replication, clustering, and disaster recovery strategies. Familiarity with Agile or DevOps environments. Experience with monitoring tools and automation frameworks.
