As a District Support Pharmacist (DSP), you play a critical role in leading excellence within each pharmacy, supporting teams across the district, and embodying our core values of collaboration, innovation, caring, integrity, and accountability.ResponsibilitiesManage and improve patient health through safe dispensing, counseling and immunizing practices.Travel district to fill pharmacist shifts and oversee pharmacies as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during bench shifts.Ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by directing the pharmacy team to follow workflow procedures and safety guardrails.Assume day‑to‑day duties of the Pharmacy Manager when the primary pharmacist‑on‑duty.Coaching the pharmacy team to provide compassionate care, resolve insurance and medication issues, and maintain a positive patient experience.Proactively offer and deliver immunizations to keep patients healthy; support Pharmacy Technicians to learn immunization skills.Manage pharmacy inventory, emphasizing cold chain protection and best practices.Maintain clinical and technical skills through required trainings and continuing education.Deliver pharmacist‑delivered clinical care (e.g., COVID/Flu, hormonal contraception) where permissible, supporting holistic patient care.Comply with federal and state regulations, ethical standards, and CVS Health policies, including controlled substance dispensing and recordkeeping.Required QualificationsActive pharmacist license in the state where the store is located.Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list.Essential FunctionsTravel within a reasonable radius to support market staffing as business needs require.Regular, predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.Complete required training within designated timeframe.Attention and Focus:Concentrate on tasks over time.Pivot quickly between tasks to meet patient and business needs.Confirm prescription information and label accuracy to ensure patient safety.Customer Service and Team Orientation:Actively help people in a friendly manner.Notice and understand patient reactions, responding appropriately.Communication Skills:Use verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues.Practice active listening, ask questions appropriately, and avoid inappropriate interruptions.Mathematical Reasoning:Use math to solve problems such as determining total tablets, day’s supply, and full bottle calculations.Problem Resolution:Identify challenging patient or colleague interactions and choose the best course of action.Physical Demands:Be mobile, remain upright for extended periods.Lift, scan, bag items, reach overhead, and use hands and arms repeatedly.Move up to 20 lbs with occasional lifts; frequent lifts up to 10 lbs.Maintain close visual acuity for transcribing, computer use, and reading small parts.Any additional tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager.Preferred Qualifications1–2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.BenefitsAffordable medical plan options.401(k) plan with company matching.Employee stock purchase plan.No‑cost wellness programs (screenings, tobacco cessation, weight management).Paid time off, flexible work schedules, family leave, dependent care resources, and tuition assistance.EEO StatementCVS Health is an equal‑opportunity employer.
