Job Summary: Insures that materials and services are purchased at the lowest cost, in the correct quantity, of the highest quality consistent with the requirements, and are delivered within the scheduled time frame.

Essential Duties:
· Organizes and coordinates supplier/vendor activity and negotiations.
· Evaluates existing suppliers/vendors and develops and selects new suppliers.
· Evaluates bids and quotations.
· Issues purchase orders and changes.
· Schedules delivery of materials, selects carrier routes, prepares necessary shipping documents, and handles claims for lost or damaged goods.
· Follows up on open purchase orders with vendors to verify delivery of products are on time.
· Notifies production and/or sales immediately if material will not be received on date required. Allows time for production to plan accordingly and/or sales to notify our customer if their order will not ship on time.
· Maintains consistent and accurate purchase, price, stock, and consumption records in the current business system.
Minimum Qualifications:
· BS or BA in business or related field, and 1 years purchasing experience; OR high school graduate and 3 years purchasing experience.
· Working knowledge of PC-based spreadsheet and word processing software.
· Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
· Able to work independently.
· Familiar with commodities used by American Ultraviolet and/or American Ultraviolet of Illinois and sources of supply.
