Our Wellness Centers provide high quality preventive and wellness pet care services including diagnostic testing, vaccinations, preventive medications, microchipping, nail trims and wellness exams. As a PetIQ Veterinarian, you will get the satisfaction of providing necessary care for pets without the pressures of a full-service veterinary environment. Whether you are a recent graduate or a seasoned Veterinarian looking to further advance veterinary care in our communities, we would like to connect with you.ResponsibilitiesPerform physical examinations and blood testing; administer vaccinations, nail trims and microchipsConsult pet owners on nutrition, preventive healthcare and general careMaintain relevant, comprehensive medical recordsProvide mentorship to veterinary support team by communicating PetIQ medical standards, ethical practices, and your knowledge and experienceContinuously strengthen and build the PetIQ brandAttend monthly staff training meetingsOther duties or functions as assignedMinimum QualificationsDoctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary schoolNC State license to practice in the professionPreferred QualificationsStrong knowledge of vaccine protocols, intestinal parasites prevention and heartworm prevention, heartworm disease in both cats and dogs, heartworm and flea preventives, and prescription productsStrong interpersonal skillsExcellent customer service skills, ensuring accurate and reliable work productStrong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skillsCreative, flexible and innovative thinker; management skills to mentor team membersHealth Certificate Accreditation a plusEducation RequirementsDoctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary schoolNC State license to practice in the professionPhysical RequirementsAbility to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standardsAbility to perform all of the physical requirements of the job which will include but not be limited to:Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unaided, up to 150 pounds assistedMust be able to stand/walk/move about for prolonged periods of timeMust be able to stoop, kneel, and crouchRequires good hand-eye coordination, finger-arm-hand dexterity with the ability to reach and graspPetIQ is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
