Requisition Title: R&D Software Engineer III – Cybersecurity Location: Minnesota, St. Paul (Onsite) Days/Hours: Mon – Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm Pay Range: 80k/Ann – 100k/Ann Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer with strong proficiency in C++, Python, and shell scripting, combined with a solid understanding of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration and Linux cybersecurity practices. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with OpenSSL, including encryption, key generation, and X.509 certificate management. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working across both application development and system‑level security engineering. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain software applications using C++, Python, and Shell. Implement and maintain secure coding practices and contribute to the hardening of Linux systems to effectively protect against and respond to known and emerging cybersecurity threats. Utilize OpenSSL for cryptographic operations including symmetric and asymmetric encryption, key pair generation and management, and X.509 certificate creation, signing, and validation. Participate in code reviews, threat modeling, and vulnerability assessments. Document system configurations, software designs, and security procedures. Work with Software Development, Systems Engineering, Product Security, and other stakeholders to develop cybersecurity controls. Contribute to completion of project activities, from definition and identifying software functional requirements through implementation, code reviews, and final release according to medical device development processes. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with C++, Python, Perl, or Shell. Solid understanding of Linux system administration, preferably RHEL. Experience with OpenSSL and cryptographic protocols, TLS, and PKCS. Knowledge of Linux cybersecurity software, including SELinux, fapolicyd, and secure boot. Excellent problem‑solving and debugging skills. Experience in assessing and remediating cybersecurity vulnerabilities. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate to all levels of the organization. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of the Qt application development framework. Experience with secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC) and secure programming practices. Familiarity with TPM (Trusted Platform Module) and hardware‑backed key storage. Certifications such as RHCE, Security+, CISSP, CSSLP, or similar. Well versed in FDA Cybersecurity Guidance, GDPR, and NIST. Knowledge of 62304 and other standards applicable to Class II and Class III medical devices. Previous experience working in a regulated industry such as automotive, aerospace, healthcare, or defense. Requisition Title: Software Verification Technician Location: Minnesota, St. Paul (Onsite) Days/Hours: Mon – Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm Pay Range: 30k/Ann – 38k/Ann Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and detail‑oriented Technician to support our Systems Verification team. This role is ideal for someone with hands‑on experience in testing, troubleshooting, and supporting engineering teams in motion control robotics, and system‑level verification. Key Responsibilities Perform system‑level test execution and collect data for analysis. Build, maintain, and troubleshoot test fixtures and setups (ECAD/MCAD, robotics, motion control). Support test method development and validation activities. Assist in programming and automation tasks using LabVIEW and Python. Document test procedures, results, and observations accurately. Collaborate with engineering teams to support hardware/software integration and verification. Additional Responsibilities Support project planning and coordination under from engineers. Contribute to process improvements and technical reviews. Maintain lab equipment and ensure test environments are compliant and functional. Assist in identifying, sourcing, and acquiring capital equipment and technical resources required for testing and development. Qualifications Associate’s degree or technical certification in electronics, mechatronics, or related field; equivalent experience considered. 5+ years of hands‑on experience in a technician role, preferably in medical devices or regulated industries. Proficiency in using test equipment, tools, and software for data collection and analysis. Familiarity with LabVIEW, Python, SolidWorks, and Altium is a plus. Strong documentation and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Clear communication skills and attention to detail. Preferred Experience Experience supporting engineering teams in product development and verification. Background in motion control, robotics, or electromechanical systems. Understanding of FDA and ISO standards for testing and documentation. Skilled in electronics assembly, including circuit building, soldering, and troubleshooting. Responsible for compliance with applicable corporate and divisional policies and procedures. Research, develop, design, and evaluate cybersecurity risk mechanical and electro‑mechanical materials, components, assemblies, processes and/or equipment. Conduct cybersecurity testing and validation activities to verify capability and functionality; develop new concepts from initial design to market release. Utilize product development software and cybersecurity resources to develop threat models, requirements, architecture, design, implementation, and maintenance of medical security software for electrophysiology products focused on embedded systems. Assess cybersecurity risks of new products and features as well as identify potential interactions with existing products and features. Perform activities and deliverables related to cybersecurity for electrophysiology product development, including threat modeling and risk management. Stay abreast of cybersecurity threats and trends and manage appropriate responses. Contribute to cybersecurity maintenance processes of various products within electrophysiology. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure all cybersecurity activities and deliverables are completed on time and in accordance with procedures and regulatory requirements. Use cybersecurity frameworks to standardize cybersecurity functions for development and delivery. Plan and execute security activities such as penetration testing on various products. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or related engineering field (Master’s preferred). 7+ years of software development experience. 5+ years of security experience. Strong knowledge of cybersecurity architecture, design, and implementation. Experience with industry standard security frameworks (NIST, OWASP, ISO, etc.). Experience with global medical device regulations (FDA, EU‑MDR, CFDA). Experience in at least one domain: information security risk management, compliance, platform security, network security, cloud security, application security, embedded device security. Experience with visual modeling/design, multi‑threading, formal software development methodologies, and source code management. Experience working in an iterative Agile development process. Preferred Education Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Design software or customize software for client use to optimize operational efficiency. May supervise offshore developers. Minimum Qualifications – Education/Experience Hands‑on experience developing applications utilizing React and JavaScript. Experience in using Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, TDD, etc.). Four or more years of experience in software development involving front‑end development. Bachelor of Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent (MS preferred). Qualifications Hands‑on experience with React and JavaScript. Experience with project management tools such as Jira. Experience with requirements management tools such as Jama. Experience using configuration management tools such as GitHub. Good understanding of front‑end frameworks such as React or Angular. Proficiency with at least one modern application development language (Java, C++, or C). Experience with integration, integration testing, and cybersecurity for embedded software.
