The role of the Cloud Data Architect is a critical enabler in helping us deliver solutions to the enterprise that take advantage of Ford’s vast and varied data landscape. This role will take on the most difficult data challenges in the industry and help us realize a modern enterprise data platform for one of the world’s most iconic companies. The Cloud Data Architect will help drive our strategy for organizing our enterprise data and will design novel solutions to turn the information in our enterprise systems into insights for leaders and decision-makers.Responsibilities:Refine and manage a data architecture roadmap in partnership with the Data Product Management Team.Leverage GCP services like Cloud Pub/Sub, Dataflow, and BigQuery to build reliable and efficient data pipelines.Own the conceptual model for a data domain inside the central data platform. Develop and maintain data schemas and models for products within that framework.Ensure data integrity, consistency, and quality across multiple data assets.Learn, know, and understand Ford’s enterprise data assetsThink creatively about new ways to use the data in our environments to progress the goals of our business.Perform performance tuning and optimization:Identify bottlenecks and optimize the performance of data pipelines to meet business requirements.Stay abreast of emerging technologies and best practices in streaming data:Continuously learn and adopt new technologies and approaches to keep our data architecture at the forefront of the industry.Bachelor’s Degree in related field or work experience equivalent6+ years of experience as a Data Architect or similar role with a strong focus on structured and unstructured data.Experience in Cloud (GCP, AWS, ..), SQL and NoSQL databases, Java, Hadoop, Python, Spark, Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, and Data Marts preferredStrong understanding of distributed systems, data processing frameworks, and data warehousing concepts.Expert in SQL for querying and manipulating data.Experience with Python for data processing, scripting, and automation.Experience with data modeling, data governance, and data quality best practices.Excellent organizational skillsStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to transfer knowledge to othersExperience with DevOps practices and toolsExpertise in GCP data services like Cloud Pub/Sub, Dataflow, BigQuery, and related technologies preferredYou may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to applyAs an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice.
