Overview

Lead development and commissioning of automation upgrades in NMBS Hope. Assist Production Manager in other process improvement work for NMBS plant.

Responsibilities

* Design, install and maintain automated equipment for joist and deck manufacturing
* Work with team members to design new equipment, process control and layout ot improve safety, quality and efficiency of the plant
* Prepare designs, budgets, financial justifications, and schedules for capital projects
* Effectively work with maintenance group on equipment reliability improvements
* Work with equipment suppliers on equipment design
* Create effective ELC procedures, technical manuals, drawings, training documentation, preventative maintenance plans and troubleshooting guides
* Effectively collaborate with automation group, other departments and other NMBS plants

Qualifications

* Strong safety attitude
* Works well in a team environment
* High energy, self-starter, and well-organized individual with excellent communication skills
* Extensive experience in equipment design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance
* BS in Industrial Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
* Ability to travel as necessary

Preferred

* Previous supervisory experience or team lead experience
* Experience with PLC's and HMI's development
* Experience with Allen-Bradley and Fanuc systems
