The responsibility of the Asset Protection Analyst is to show leadership and support for Asset Protection (AP) facets of WHSmith North America (NA); ensuring that they are effective, and accurate and support the overall organization's AP goals. This position maintains accurate Asset Protection controls through existing programs, report building, policies, and procedures, and will work with the field, sales audit, facilities, new store construction, distribution center, and department heads. This role will research and compile data from various sources; determine requirements; track and report statistics; and oversee the integration and migration of data between databases. The position requires a minimum of 40 hours a week with the possibility of weekends and nights depending on the company’s needs

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or Information Security preferred
  • 2+ years’ experience in a retail environment with a focus on Asset Protection, Cyber Security, Information Technology
  • The ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Demonstrate the ability to investigate complex and highly technical problems and perform root cause analysis
  • Strong interpersonal skills; good follow-up skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills, while working well alone and in a team setting.
  • Experience using Power BI or Tableau, relational databases, Aptos, Apriss, SQL, open-source crime statistics datasets, link and network analysis software, statistical analysis software, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and presentation software.
  • Familiar with retail Point of Sale, Inventory Control, and Asset Protection Software
  • Must be able to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds
  • Must be able to bend, squat, reach, type, stand and sit for scheduled hours
  • Ability to travel up to 10% in US and Canada
  • Satisfactory Criminal Background Check and Drug Testing May be required depending upon location
  • Additional Security clearance may be required depending upon location
